Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
The Government introduced EPCs to improve awareness and encourage better energy efficiency of buildings in the UK. With effect from October 2008 it is a legal requirement for all rented property to have an EPC issued by a suitably qualified registered person. For all properties on the market for sale the EPC forms part of the Home Improvement Pack (HIP) documents (see above).
The EPC provides ‘A’ to ‘G’ ratings for the building, with ‘A’ being the most energy efficient and ‘G’ being the least. A report sits alongside the certificate which suggests improvements to make a building more energy efficient.
We would be pleased to arrange for completion of an EPC for your property at your request and for a fee. Please note that we are unable to market your property until an EPC has been prepared.
